DIY Instructions
First, get all your supplies out. Before you start painting your jar you will want to measure the amount of rope you will need. To do this I like to take the rope and wrap it around the mason jar lip a few times and then cut the rope to size. Set that rope aside for a later step.
Now we can start painting! I find is easier to hold my mason jar upside down with my hand inside of the jar. This just makes it easier for me to get everything. I do not paint the inside of the jar, but i do paint the top of the lip, just so that it looks complete. Go ahead and paint the entire outside and bottom of the jar.
Once that dries, you can add another coat of paint if you prefer. And then let that dry completely before moving on to the next step.
Next you’ll want to take your sandpaper and scuff up the mason jar a bit to add some dimension and texture, here and there.
Now you’re ready to add rope! Just heat up the glue gun and then, working in sections, add hot glue to the rope as you wrap it around the lip of your jar. Cut any extra rope off, if needed and just make sure everything is glued into place.
Once all that dries you can add some flower picks to complete your decor! I like to change these out to fit the seasons and I’ve made multiple jars to place in different areas of our home. I love how versatile these jars are! You can use them in your home all year round!
