Glow in the Dark Treat Hunt!

This year I know a lot of you are going to be staying at home for Halloween. So I came up with a super FUN and EASY alternative to trick-or-treating!

And as an added bonus: you can get everything you need at the DOLLAR STORE!

Supplies

  • Glow in the dark bracelets, one color for each child

  • Clear plastic cups (clear is preferred, so you can easily see the bracelets)

  • Candy + other treats

Instructions

  1. Have the kids go play in another room while you set everything up.

  2. Line up your preferred amount of cups for each child.

  3. Follow the instructions on your glow sick to make them glow and assemble them as bracelets.

  4. Place a glow bracelet in each cup, make sure to use a different color bracelet for each child. *This will make it fair and keep the kids from fighting over who has more.

  5. Put a couple of treats in each cup.

  6. Hide the cups all over the house.

  7. Turn out the lights and let the kids come out, giving them instructions to only hunt for their own color.

And that’s it!

This game was so much fun! We plan on making this a tradition and doing it every year!

In fact, if you wanted to use this in addition to trick-or-treating you could! Just tell the kids they can select a few pieces from their trick or treating bags and play the game with those pieces!

This will also ensure that they are limited on how much sugar they consume on Halloween night and then maybe you can use the rest in a treasure chest that they can pick out of when they make a good choice and you want to reward them! I always like to have a little something put together for my boys to earn a special treat, and I don’t want them eating all their Halloween candy in one night so this keeps them from doing that! (WIN-WIN!)
