Easiest Ever Christmas Pretzel Decorating

The easiest way to decorate pretzels to gift to neighbors and loved ones… anyone can do this!

I love making holiday treats and giving them out to everyone who will receive them! I also love to be given things like this and so the thought of being able to bring joy to someone else with a small gesture makes me so happy!

And it doesn’t have to be complicated - these pretzels are insanely simple and when gifting them I just used these cute Christmas boxes I got from the dollar store - so you don’t have to spend a lot of money either!

If you have many people to gift and are on a small budget this Christmas - I would highly recommend trying to gift a sweet treat like these fabulously festive pretzels!

So let’s get into it!

First you’ll want to get out a cookie sheet and some parchment paper. Or if you want to really make a lot in a short amount of time - you could put the parchment paper out on the kitchen counter and just roll it out. Then you’ll need to cover your parchment paper in pretzels, making sure they aren’t overlapping. (This will ensure every pretzel gets covered in chocolatey goodness!)

Next you’ll want to melt your chocolate wafers, following the package instructions. I used these Sweet Tooth Fairy Meltables that I got at Michaels. And I just put them in separate bowls (I used ceramic bowls) and microwaved them on 50% power for 1 minute and stirred and then I added 30 seconds at a time until I got a good consistency that I liked. If you see the picture below of my peppermint wafers after melting you can see the consistency you’ll want to go for. And if you need to melt them again after they cool you can - just follow those same instructions. Sometimes they’ll start to harden up again if they sit out long enough while you’re decorating.

Finally you’re ready to decorate! Just grab a fork and dip it in the chocolate (I did the dark chocolate first) and drizzle it onto the pretzels in sweeping motions. You can go in circles or change directions, just make sure to get every pretzel! And use separate forks for each bowl so they don’t get mixed up. It will be a mess - but that’s what you want! One you break them off from each other they look so cute!

Next you’ll take your peppermint dust and, while the chocolate is still melted on your pretzels, sprinkle peppermint all over your pretzels. This is my favorite part- where they really start coming together! Then let them sit and harden before finally separating all your pretzels and placing them on display, in treat bags, in boxes, mason jars - whatever makes you jolly!

They may look messy now but trust me - it all comes together in the end! (Proof below) And not to mention they taste SO good!

These are the beautiful Christmas boxes I found at the dollar store this year! Perfect for these pretzels!

The dollar store has some of the best Christmas finds!

I hope you enjoy making these (and eating them!) Thank you for visiting and be sure to take a pic and tag @jessicadianne on IG if you make these pretzels! I would love to see them!
